"Technician Program: Intro to - Thermoformed Articulated AFO" contains a series of courses thoroughly explaining steps and processes in creating a Thermoformed Articulated AFO. Courses include: Preparing cast, Mixing Plaster for AFO, AFO description, Preparing and attaching Tamarack Joints, Preparing Plastic, Creating Stop, Trimlines and Cutting out, Rough Cut to Finishing, Strap Prep and Installation, Installing and finishing Pads, Cleanup and check. 

This course explains basic skills and tips used in a lab to create a Thermoformed Articulated AFO.The program was designed to give anyone a starting point on the basic skills needed to do their job. Ideally, the courses are for the new technician or new O&P Assistant but could be used by other individuals looking to refresh, broaden skills or train employees.

The program is led by Russ Bartlett Jr., CPOA one of Coyote Designs Technician Managers instructing how he would teach a beginner technician in his lab on how to create a Transtibial Test Socket.

The courses thorough instructional videos followed by still pictures and brief explanations make it possible to quickly refer back to the course if needed.

The program includes 22 instructional videos varying in length, an outline of the instructions in each video along with a series of pictures and explanations reiterating the process. 
The program contains 22 courses instructing each step of the process of making a Thermoformed Articulate AFO.
The program is followed by 42 test questions and a course survey.
The program is estimated to take approximately 5 hours and can be started, stopped and restarted at any time at the point the learner left off.

We are offering our "Technician Program: Intro to - Thermoformed Articulated AFO" course for $60. This course is worth 6(S) Continuing Education credits from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics Inc(ABC). You must be certified by ABC, get an 80% or better on the test questions and you will receive science Category 1 credits. (This course is for certified; Orthotists, Orthotic Assistants, Orthotic Technicians).
